The Demonstration van is almost ready, the solar hot water, is installed, the PV is up and running
The Wind and Solar shop demo van will be able to demonstrate renewable energy systems.
It has on board a fully installed and operational Solar Photovotaics, running through a Moringstar charger controller at 24 volts, into a bank of 12 Yuasa 130 Amp batteries.
It has fully installed and operational Solar Thermal hot water heater, complete with a specially designed twin coil tank and evacuated tube panel and Resol controller etc.
To complete the Demo van we have also integrated a 1KW turbine
A battery bank which has a storage capacity of over 10kw
And running in the Demo van there are a number of energy efficient appliances including an LCD television, energy efficient LED lights, an energy efficient kettle, common items found in every home and, of course, an electrisave to monitor all the details.
The Demo van will be travelling aound the country to different shows which will be detailed on this page at a later date.
It is available for hire and is an ideal educational tool.
